Cornell Bowers CIS Brand Guide
Welcome to the Cornell Bowers CIS brand guide.
A brand guide enables organizations to implement and maintain consistency and quality across communication channels and marketing materials. This practice is especially critical in circumstances when more than one person is designing, producing, and reviewing content.
Any Cornell Bowers CIS brand assets, deployed in any format, need to be handled with care. Remember that your use of these materials makes you a brand ambassador for the college. Please be mindful of this shared responsibility.
University-level assets can be downloaded directly from Cornell University’s brand page, such as the Cornell lockup; there you will find additional brand implementation guidelines.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact the Cornell Bowers CIS communications team at comm-office@cis.cornell.edu.
Web Accessibility
Cornell Bowers CIS maintains a firm commitment to creating content that abides by W3C’s Web Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0. Before sharing content—such as a professional or lab website, course materials, or even graphics for social media—please familiarize yourself with Cornell University’s web accessibility guidelines and resources. For instance: Does your on-screen text color pass contrast tests? Did you apply alt-text to your online photos? How about remediating any PDFs for your course so that they can be read by screen-reading technology? These are important questions to address early on to ensure content created within the college—and more broadly, Cornell University—is accessible to everyone.
